Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup lard or shortening
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup cold water
Instructions

Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in lard till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Combine milk and water. Add liquid to flour mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time, to form dough.

Turn onto lightly floured surface; knead gently. Roll to ¾-inch thickness; cut into biscuits.

Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425°F for 18 to 20 minutes or until light brown.
