Crimson Bisque

Tomato juice, chicken broth, and a splash of dry sherry make this quick bisque look like it took all day. Garnish with green onion brushes for extra ‘80s elegance.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 1 (10¾-oz) can condensed chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon celery salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • Green onion brushes (optional garnish)
  • Lemon peel strips (optional garnish)

Instructions

    In a 3-quart saucepan combine all ingredients except sherry, onion brushes, and lemon peel; bring to boiling.

    Remove from heat; stir in sherry.

    Serve in individual soup bowls. Garnish with green onion brushes and lemon peel strips.
